Fibre to the Curb

halfway between fibre to the node and fibre to the premises, fibre to the curb increases speeds to homes and businesses  most of the way to fibre speeds.

NBN will provide a (currently) white squarish box with a little sliding window. this is the power supply and internet connection for fibre to the curb. power is fed back to the nbn to drive the hardware in the street and your router plugs into the device called an NTD

it's not uncommon for your premises to have this connection technology but not the box. despite many labels on the box itself many people take these devices with them when they move...don't do that. they're effectively useless elsewhere. if this occurs you'll need to contact your RSP for a replacement. always try to get your internet connected as soon as practical
